中国年轻人买车:炫耀还是方便？

A majority of Chinese youth are keen on having a car of their own which they think is a reflection of their social status.A nation-wide survey conducted by China Youth Daily found more than a half of the respondents are planning to buy cars very soon.
大部分中国年轻人都热衷于给自己买辆车，因为他们认为这是拥有一定社会地位的体现。日前由《中国青年报》发起的一项全国性调查显示，超过一半的被调查者计划在不久的将来买车。
+ g# H8 p" j, i* J7 w3 K1 mThe survey polled 1,541 respondents, 40 percent of whom were from small and medium-sized cities, and 43 percent were from provincial capitals. Of the respondents, 60 percent said they were planning to buy a car during the next five years, while 16 percent already had one. Only 21 percent ruled out buying a car.
该项调查对象有1541人，40%来自中小城市，43%来自省会城市。其中60%的人称将会在未来五年内买部车，而16%的人已经拥有了一部。只有21%的人表示不考虑买车。
Many respondents wanted to buy cars out of peer pressure and associated cars with their social status. A professor in psychology in Fudan University said: "More and more people tend to use cars as show-off to satisfy their spiritual emptiness."
许多被调查者称买车是出于同俳压力，并且还把车和社会地位联系起来。复旦大学一位心理学教授说：“越来越多的人把有车作为炫耀资本来填补他们精神的空虚。”

"The outreach of buses and subways is still limited, but with a car, I can go everywhere. Besides, driving saves time and effort compared to catching public transport," he said.
$ r' Y. |9 h: v9 `然而，也有一些被调查者认为汽车带来的“方便”是他们买车的主要原因。从清华大学毕业的马立伟（音）一个月前刚买了一辆车。“公共汽车和地铁所能到达的地方是有限的，可是如果我有了车，去哪儿都可以。此外，自己开车比乘坐公共交通工具更加省时省力，”他说。
